A garden wedding at Emma’s family home, with a cèilidh to honour Sarah’s Scottish heritage.

Emma (they/them) and Sarah (she/her) poured themselves into every detail of their day, creating a wedding that was unapologetically them.

They ditched traditional wedding party titles in favour of calling their crew their “best people”— a gender‑neutral term that reflected their values. Everyone chose their own outfit in whatever made them feel amazing (as long as it was blue!), resulting in a wedding party that looked effortlessly cohesive and fabulous.

Their good friend officiated the ceremony with warmth and humour, and Emma and Sarah’s self‑written vows left many reaching for a tissue.

Instead of a formal dinner, guests tucked into stone‑fired pizza, fresh pasta, and ice cream, with a DIY toast station later to fuel the dancing. Heartfelt speeches gave way to one of their best people’s incredible rewrite of Sweet Caroline, complete with their new surname— a crowd‑pleasing nod to their love of women’s football.

The cèilidh had everyone— of all ages and abilities— swinging and laughing late into the night. The band used inclusive language, swapping “man and woman” for “taller and shorter person,” making sure everyone felt welcome on the dance floor.

It was a day overflowing with love, laughter, and authenticity—proof that a wedding feels best when it’s truly your own.

What Emma & Sarah had to say about working with me…

Allison was an absolutely brilliant coordinator, she was such a help from start to finish. From our calls in the run up to the day itself, Allison was a reassuring presence. She was always on hand to help advise and solve problems, and made the process enjoyable throughout.

In our planning process, we created a ‘Best People Binder’ for our wedding party to ensure all of our organisation was communicated effectively. Allison suggested this idea as it worked really well for her own wedding, and her input was invaluable. The binder ended up working fantastically! It kept everything in one place that was easy to reference for all involved.

The day before our wedding we had planned a rehearsal in the evening, by which point a couple of deliveries of furniture were either late or hadn’t arrived at all. Allison took charge of the situation and went above and beyond to solve the issue and ease our stress. We were then able to focus on our rehearsal and spending time with our families that evening.

On our wedding day, Allison ensured that the day ran smoothly. She made announcements to keep the day on track and our guests in the know, whilst seamlessly coordinating multiple elements in the background. She liaised with our best people and suppliers and checked in with us when needed, if anything did go wrong we were none the wiser! It meant we could fully switch off from all of the logistics and enjoy spending time with all of our loved ones, confident in the knowledge that Allison had it sorted.

Not only is Allison calm and professional, she is incredibly personable and makes everyone feel valued. We couldn’t recommend her enough!
